We have earned a Gold Seal of Approval for Healthcare Staffing Services by the Joint Commission. This accomplishment is a testament to the commitment and expertise of our compliance team, assuring you that our credentialing processes and standards are second to none.
In adhering to Joint Commission standards, our pre-employment verification process certifies all employees contracted to our clients will possess the appropriate licenses and teaching certifications in their respective field of specialty.

Each contracted employee must also complete the following:

  • Completed, signed and dated employment agreement
  • Completed I-9 form verifying eligibility to work in the United States
  • Completed, signed and updated clinical skills assessment
  • Two recent managerial references
  • Current CPR
  • Completed physical examination
  • Immunizations/Screens/Titers
    • Evidence of MMR vaccine or titers for immunity
    • Proof of Hepatitis B immunization or immune status and/or letter of declination
    • Completed PPD skin test within the last year
    • Varicella hx, vaccine, titer or declination
  • Drug Screen completed prior to starting
  • National criminal background check
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • Amongst other requirements

The bulk of the credentialing process will take place post-interview and offer of employment.  Upon completion of the human resources verifications, clearances, tests, etc. and prior to the start date, the designated administrators at the facility will receive a complete and comprehensive file.

Why would a hospital system choose to partner with Mediscan?  The hiring managers at Mediscan are experts at recruiting and sourcing staff, who may or may not be located in your immediate area. Our bandwidth and expertise to find the best candidate (or candidates) for our client’s needs affords hospital systems the flexibility to address skills shortages and fluctuating demand.  We also handle unemployment insurance, workers' compensation and tax issues for our temporary and contract workers.

What types of positions can Mediscan fill?  The types of positions we have the ability to fill are exceedingly wide and range from per diem and daily staffing, long-term contracts, temporary-to-permanent, and direct-hire placements in a wide variety of medical working environments. Amongst others, the specific positions include nursing professionals (registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, and licensed practical nurses), therapists, (physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory), advanced medical professionals, medical technologists, certified nursing assistants, dietitians, social workers and case managers.

What responsibility does Mediscan have for the healthcare professionals placed on site?  The day-to-day oversight of the employee varies for each specific client, but is generally provided by the client’s on-site supervisor. Other responsibilities that are managed by Mediscan, include, but are not limited to, payroll, insurance, workers’ compensation and other benefits – alleviating human resource-related paperwork challenges and allowing the hospital administrators to focus on their core business.

Is it possible for me to hire one of the temporary employees provided?  Yes, Mediscan allows clients to hire a temporary or contract employee as a permanent member of their team. A placement fee is negotiated to complete the hiring process.
