Introducing Lorenzo H., an occupational therapist currently on assignment with Mediscan. He was very excited to join the team, and we were excited that he agreed to answer a few questions to share with you about his background and interests. Welcome aboard, Lorenzo!
Mediscan: How long have you been an Occupational Therapist (OT)?
Lorenzo: I graduated from OT school in 2016 and have been working as an OT since then. I work in both homecare and pediatrics.
Mediscan: What is the part of your job that you enjoy the most?
Lorenzo: I really like working with kids and coming up with new treatments and activities. You get to use your imagination and creativity
Mediscan: Where are you in your journey?
Lorenzo: This is only my second assignment. My first one was also in the Oakland area and it was pretty fun. The kids here are great; it’s going to be hard to leave them.
Mediscan: Why did you take on a travel assignment? Where have you lived and where would you like to go in the future?
Lorenzo: I started travel to explore the west coast and I love it here. I moved here from the east coast, and have lived in New Jersey and New York City. My goal is to travel through Asia: Japan, Singapore, Korea, etc., at some point in the future.
Mediscan: What has been your biggest challenge as an OT thus far?
Lorenzo: Biggest challenge in being an OT is that usually you’re kind of on your own and need to just make it work, and make it work quickly.
